Buckskin Joe’s scenic train ride, the Royal Gorge Scenic Railway, is a marvelous way to view the spectacular Royal Gorge Canyon and bridge. The 3 mile, 30 minute train ride takes you out to the Point Alta Vista viewing platform at upper north rim of the Royal Gorge Canyon. From this scenic point you get the best view of the Royal Gorge and bridge, as you view it from side to side and up and down. The train runs on a 15 inch narrow gauge mining track, as was once used by the miners to precious gold ore from deep in the mines. The railway depot touts one of the largest gift and souvenir shops in the region
At some point during your old west adventure you will want to visit the Gold Nugget Restaurant and Silver Dollar Saloon where great food and drinks are available.
